G4 iBooks
My school is slowing building up a bank of iBooks for the high school kids. We got a bank of 30 in last year for the Secondary I (Grade 7) class. This year we got another trolley and bank of 15 for this year's Grade 7s. The new iBooks are G4s and equipped with Panther and all the perks that come with it!
Teachers of the Grade 7s and 8s are encouraged to sign out the iBooks so they can get used to the operating system and platform. Because the majority of my classes are one or the other (or both combined) of these grade levels and we already use the Mac platform at home, this wasn't too much of a hardship for me. I signed out one of the old iBooks; it is a G3 with Jaguar and a version of Safari that was very aggressive with cached pages. Today I was able to sign out one of the nice, shiny, new G4 iBooks.
Wow ... what a nice machine!
I'm going to go and play some more on the new toy ... excuse me ...
